Cardhu

Cardhu began as an illicit farm still run in large part by Helen Cumming, who warned neighbouring smugglers of excise raids by raising a flag over the barn — and her daughter-in-law Elizabeth later rebuilt the distillery and sold it to Johnnie Walker on shrewd terms. The first distillery officially pioneered by women remains the malty, honeyed heart of the Walker blends and a smooth, sweet single malt beloved in Spain.
