Scapa

A mile from its famous neighbour, little Scapa looks out over Scapa Flow, the great natural harbour where the German fleet was scuttled in 1919. It makes Orkney's other whisky: completely unpeated, distilled in a rare Lomond wash still whose stubby neck gives an oily, honeyed spirit that long vanished into blends. Rescued from silence in the 2000s and run by a handful of people, it bottles soft, salted-honey malts for those who like their islands gentle.
