The godfather of natural Beaujolais.
Inspired by the chemist-vigneron Jules Chauvet, Marcel Lapierre championed minimal-intervention "natural" winemaking in Morgon — organic fruit, native yeasts, whole-bunch carbonic fermentation and little or no added sulphur.
One of Beaujolais' famed "Gang of Four", the estate is now run by his son Mathieu and remains the reference for serious, gulpable Gamay.
