Created by the Thienpont family in 1979 from a tiny Pomerol plot, Le Pin makes only a few hundred cases of plush, almost pure Merlot.

Its scarcity and quality made it one of the most expensive and sought-after wines in the world, and the spark for the "garagiste" movement.
