Australia made its name on ripe, generous Shiraz, but its modern story is regional identity — including some of the world’s oldest vines, planted before phylloxera reached most of the globe.
- Barossa Valley — old-vine Shiraz (some ungrafted vines from the 1840s): rich, full, chocolatey.
- Clare & Eden Valley — bone-dry, lime-and-mineral Riesling that ages superbly.
- Coonawarra — “terra rossa” soil over limestone: minty, structured Cabernet.
