Colorado's first legal distillery since Prohibition began — famously — when volunteer firefighter Jess Graber answered a barn fire at George Stranahan's ranch. Their Rocky Mountain single malt, made from local barley and Eldorado Springs water at altitude, matures fast under Denver's dramatic temperature swings into a honeyed, malty whiskey. Each December, fans camp for days in the snow for the release of Snowflake, its mountain-named single-cask series — American whiskey's most devoted queue.
